Images from the National Arboretum

The U.S. National Arboretum, located in Northeast Washington DC, is a beautiful place to visit even during the winter months. The photos below were taken during the winter over the past several years.

The Arboretum's web site is an excellent place to learn more about its programs, what's in bloom at various times of year on its grounds (and in this part of the country in general), and new plants that have been developed by its horticultural experts.

Admission is free and the grounds are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except on Christmas Day.
