Designed by the legendary architect Beatrix Farrand, Dumbarton Oaks' gardens are an oasis of beauty and inspiring design - down to the details of stonework finials - that should not be missed by either residents of the Washington area or visitors. Regardless of the season, there are always new wonders to be discovered. The photos below were taken in June 2004. See Dumbarton's website for hours and prices for admission.
